The Piastrella quilt uses a quilt block called The Old Italian, which dates back to the early twentieth century. This pattern teaches you how to make the block super efficiently- with little waste and in record time. You'll also learn a harmonious design technique by laying out blocks using a color wheel. The pattern works great for your favorite layer cake.
Students- max of 6
Supplies- quilt pattern, rotating cutting mat is helpful, 8.5-inch square ruler, 2.5 x 18-inch ruler
Fabric: Two-layer cakes (one patterned collection and one solid color pack). If you prefer to use yardage, you will need three yards of patterned fabric and three yards of solid fabric. Cut 42 10-inch squares from each fabric.
